Sarangkot Hiking – A Great introduction to trekking in Nepal with amazing view of mountain vistas and emerald hills along with the chance to experience pastoral life.
Sarangkot is the beautiful destination in Pokhara where you can enjoy the magnificence of nature, great view of Pokhara, Few Lake and panoramic view of the snowy peaks. Sarangkot is the most popular hill station in Pokhara and also the best viewpoint nearby the city. The views are astonishingly beautiful at dawn or dusk due to the pink and orange hues the mountain range takes on. This hilltop town is also popular location for paragliders to launch from in Pokhara.

The Sarangkot Hiking trip starts with a day drive from Kathmandu to Pokhara followed by next morning drive to Phedi. The hiking trail passes through stunning countryside inhabited by highly diversified communities. The region is densely populated by the mid hills tribe, “Gurung”. We then hike through famous viewpoint “Dhampus” to Sarangkot which is another popular spot for sunrise and sunset view over the Himalayas.

Day03: Drive from Kathmandu to Pokhara (910m/2,986ft) – 5 – 6 hours’ drive

Day01: Arrival at Kathmandu, Tribhuvan International Airport (1,300m/4,264ft)

Day02: Sightseeing of Kathmandu valley and preparation for the trek (1,300m/4,264ft)

After breakfast, you start your day with guided trip to cultural world heritage sites in Kathmandu valley. World Heritage site includes Pashumpatinath (Biggest Hindu Temple), Boudhanath (world biggest Stupa) and Swayambhunath Stupa (2,000 years old monkey temple). We also explore Patan Durbar Square & Kathmandu Durbar Square which allows you to discover unique ancient art, architecture, museum and Kumari temple.

Day03: Drive from Kathmandu to Pokhara (910m/2,986ft) – 5 – 6 hours’ drive

After breakfast, we make an early morning (7:00 AM) drive by tourist bus to Pokhara through the amazing countryside and following the down steam of Trishuli River. The river is famous for white water river rafting and other different water sports. We will arrive Pokhara by 2:00 PM and you will be transferred to you hotel by lakeside.

Day04: Drive to Phedi and trek to Dhampus (1650m/5412ft) – 30 minute drive & 4 – 5 hours trek

After early morning breakfast, we drive to the trailhead to Phedi for 30 minutes. We star the trek following staircases through the beautiful dense forest. The trail continues through the cultural village and terrace fields that serves astounding view of sacred Mountain Machhapucchre (fishtail, 6,998m), Hiunchuli (6441m), Annapurna South (7,219m), Annapurna III (7,575m), Annapurna IV (7,535m) and Annapurna II (7,937m). Eventually, you will reach Dhampus located on the top of the ridge with large countryside village.

Day05: Dhampus – Sarangkot (1592m/5222ft) – 5 – 6 hours trek

After breakfast, we continue down the Ghatte Khola and walk along the farming terraces. The trail rises up to Naudanda that serves the great view of Fewa Lake and Annapurna range on its crown. The trail further continues along the ridge and passes several village, mostly on flat trail before reaching Sarangkot. Enjoy the fascinating sunset and enjoy the dinner with the clear sky, bright stars and beautiful lake city, Pokhara.

Day06: Sarangkot – Pokhara (910m/2986ft) – 3 – 4 hours trek

An early morning hike to view tower and enjoy the great view of Annapurna range and fascinating view of sunrise. After lunch, the trail climbs down steeply through the thatched roofed houses where we get to experience the solitude of the Himalaya. Finally, the trail encounters a rice fields which is located nearby Fewa lake bank. Take an hour boat row, inspecting how long we climb down in 3 hours, then back to the hotel.

Day07: Flight: Pokhara – Kathmandu

After breakfast, you will be transferred to Pokhara airport to take a flight back to Kathmandu. Transfer to the hotel and enjoy free day at Kathmandu.
